Pre-Baby Discussions… A Quick Note

I think it is also important to note that the “self-care”, “mental health red flags”, and “non working down time” need to also be discussed in regard to your partner. Up to 1 in 10 new Dads develop PPD, so it is important that we are cognizant of their mood, signs of trouble, what to do in those circumstances, as well as building in self-care and down time for them.

 

We spend a lot of time on the list of things we need, packing the hospital bag, and making a birth plan…. Please invest even more time into developing a postpartum plan. This needs to become a normal part of birth planning, because truly, the fourth trimester is the critical time for most parents. 💜
